TODDLER ROOM
Children are active learners and our junior preschool room is set up to support and encourage their independence, natural curiosity and their continued development. The room offers a slightly more structured environment with more advanced equipment where they will have the opportunity to experiment with plenty of age appropriate activities. Equipment is rotated regularly and to meet the growing developmental needs of the children. The daily routine is flexible to allow space/ time for children to learn at their own pace and interests. Our staff reinforces important developmental objectives through creative, fun experiences e.g. exploring art & craft, malleable play (play dough, cornflour), sand/ water-play, construction materials, home corner etc. Development of the linguistic skills is an important part of our toddler programme. Introducing toddlers to books and language nourishes early literacy development. Social skill is encouraged through the use of language through play but also in group work in a fun relaxed atmosphere. Inside the Toddler Room there are different areas for the children to use their imagination and communicate i.e. Home corner, dressing up area, shop, construction area, cosy corner and many more. This room opens out to our large play area when children have a wide range of equipment to explore, climb and play on daily.
